Im doing hosting on the side only about 40 websites but it is getting hard to keep track of everyone with PayPal, what do you use?
I am looking for something cheap just like papal, it would harm my clients if I had to adjust the pricing.
TIA

I invoice people and collect checks, I only have a few hosting clients so I haven't set up a merchant account with PayPal.

curious, on average how much work do you have to do per week to maintain 40 accounts?

One lump sum for hosting per year to my side clients.
Hell man, I've used template based systems using OSCommerce. It's f*cking open source. Utilize it.

so OScommerce can be used for this too?
That is good to hear..
I burn about 5 hours a week tops. sometimes i dont have to do anything at all.

Hosting sounds like a nice business venture. Can I get some more info on it?

Search for reseller hosting and find the best deal. It's good for you anyway if you have multiple sites you would like to host. I have a CFM and PHP Linux account with Host Nexus.

yeah nice way to finish a site if you can then whack another bill on for doing zip really!
how much do you guys charge? I have maybe 6 at the moment but they all went for the basic package we offered - now they want some extras its nice just to say - yes admin, blah blah blah £XXX
basically i think our server is about £5-600 a year so that doesnt take much to sell off a few spaces to pay it back.

visualplane, just dont setup your own servers and stuff like i did. its not worth it, too much crap to deal with. unless ofcourse you enjoy being a sysadmin.
- visualplane0
what's the other option?
So if I set this up, is this easy money or a pain in the ass? What's the monthly expense here? I'm so naiive

i guess in the US its much cheaper than in the AU still, so it may not be as bad, but i'd suggest some kind of virtual server, or managed server.
