Couldn't find previous posts on this, but does anyone know the MTA font?
I don't know if it differs city to city, but I like the Los Angeles metro underground signage.
The MTA site doesn't offer too much info in that area.

nyc mta font used was standard medium. at the time vignelli had no access to a commercial version of helvetica in america and was forced to use that font.
it is now available digitized as Basic Commercial. definitely exciting names for fonts.
