Hello friends & family -
Hope you are doing well... I just had something happen this weekend that I wanted to share with you.
I had a photo shoot Saturday afternoon in Barrett Park, and Eric came along to help me entertain the 2 yr old little girl I was photographing (he is much better with kids than i am).
Anyway, after the shoot was over, we hung out in the park because it was such a beautiful autumn day, and we took a walk around the path and ended up where this neat looking old chimney was standing, kind of in a wooded area of the park. Eric said he had been investigating it earlier, and swore he "heard something" up in the chimney and that the
noise "freaked him out" and he had no idea what it was, but that "something" was living in it. Then, he told me to stick my head inside the chimney to hear it for myself, and i promptly told him he was crazy. I wasn't sticking my head in this thing... i could see spider-webs at the opening, and it was way too creepy. But i was curious... so, i stooped down to see if i could hear anything, and when
i turned around Eric was gone. Then, he calls out... "HEY! You gotta come check this out!!!" ...
i was expecting to see one of three things: Eric scaling the chimney, a nest of some sort, or a dead animal. I rounded the corner of the chimney and my eyes followed the bricks to the top, and then i felt a tug on my left wrist.... i look over... and then down... and there was Eric.... eyes welled up with tears, kneeling on the ground in the mud, holding a little box in his left hand. His right hand was still gripping my left wrist... tighter than he probably realized... and he managed to get out... "I was wondering... will... will ... will you
marry me?" :-)Completely shocked... I somehow got my mouth to form the word "Yes"... but Eric swears what i actually said was... "ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? YES!!!" I seriously thought for a minute that it was all a joke... and then i realized he was dead serious... and we both knelt in the mud hugging and crying and laughing and ruined our jeans... but, who cares. I am engaged to my best friend!!!
:-)

you know eric, that is exactly what marriage is about. my wife is my closet aand bestest friend, she totally completes me in every way possible.
you have a great future the 2 of you!!! i wish the complete happiness, and believe me its not easy!!! you will have to sacrifice and comprimise more than oyu know.
a lot of single people who are in a long term relationship think they understand what sacrifice is, but a marriage is totally different!!!! there is a new respect you gain after a few years into your marriage and there is nothing that caan comapre to that feeling ever!!!
stay loving always and i hope this feeling never ends!!!!!
good luck!!!!
this is a happy day!!!
