Strange..
I been using mail for about 5 years now.. not one problem.I do wish the junk filter was better but other than that..
you probably need to use the preferences folder, it seems that it might be a particular issue with your machine :(

I switched to Mail from Entourage when I got Tiger, I haven't had any problems either, I've got about 8000 emails, it runs fine on my old iBook, and the Spotlight integration is pretty nice.

Mail app works fine here on home computer. If you are on a network at work, problems can arise. I've had those experiences.
At home if anything strange happens with Mail. I have trashed the "Cashes" folder in your user "Libray". Yeah, the whole folder. This may change a few preference settings, but you can reset them easily enough again. Usually works.

I really, really hate entourage.
Haven't had any probs with mail so far but its not the most flexible piece of software.
Heard good things about Thunderbird - let me know how you get on with it matey

I moved back to mail with tiger after using thunderbird for a few years. I really liked thunderbird but it always crahed when I dragged and dropped attachments, something I did a lot.
I've been really happy with the new version of mail.

strange this thread came up today. As of today, I can't attach any Illustrator v10 or lower eps's to an email. When I try to, Mail freezes everytime and I have to force quit and try over again. Not happy right now...

I gave up on Thunderbird about a year or so ago after it got in the habit of locking up if I took too long to compose an email. I'd have to force quit, relaunch the app and send the email from the drafts/outbox. The Address Book integration was the final nail.

iam using Hotmail. no more problems for me. my email are on a server, my computer can burn and i will never lost my mails. access from everywhere. its just perfect. Local email client is useless for me now.
i payed the 30$/year plan with Microsoft for my Hotmail account. 2gb of space, no ads, 20mb attachments.
thats it.

also, i can add 4 POP3 adress in my Hotmail, so iam receiving all my 4 email account in my hotmail. from everywhere.

-------You been had. So was I until I gave my .mac account the royal boot.
.MAC users have all been had, sorry to say I'm a victim myself :( Now I use my various work pop servers and my sparkly gmail account through POP straight into mail, works great. Use gmail as a pop account and you don't receive ads anyway, so no ads, no pay, will always have them and can access from anywhere!
nE1 want a gmail invite?...

sounds like you need to trash your Mail settings. are your accounts IMAP or POP? i love the new version of Mail. yeah the junk mail error in Panthers version was a pain but the Tiger's Mail is smooth as butter. i love the smartmailboxes.

gmail look like shit to me. i dont like it.
its a detail, but... it surely look like shit

That's kinda funny. That's what I like about Google's approach. That bare, stripped look. Nothing fancy; just simple and functional.

Didn't mean to make you feel bad benfal. Gmail hasn't missed a beat for me, massive space (free), massive size attachments (free), and POP service (free).
For now, I can't beat it. If hotmail's doing it for you then stick to it, gotta be happy.

mail has always been goodd for me. I wish you could sent html emails though! i can't understand if you can do it in an 8 year old outlook express why can't you do it with mail?
- bassik0
My thoughts exactly V3nt!!
I've been asked countless times by clients if I can create html EDMs for them and my standard response has always been, Um sorry you'll have to buy a bulk email program. What the hell, every other client sends html email. Can anyone tell me if tiger mail has html option?
