i thought it looked like the bottom of an 'a' and an 's' rather than a 'd' and an 's'.
the concept isnt bad, maybe try a more suitable typeface and cut out the ltterforms from another shape, rather than just out of negative space.

looks not dissimilar to something I played with a while ago...
joined my initials "ab" to look like ma genitals, then I decided it was too big for a logo

i like that you are going for a type treatment, but seeing that you're designing for designers, you have the rare opportunity to produce one of those "too clever" logos that your audience will actually appriciate.

really good clever type treatments here, very clever use of type!
check it out, see if theres anything to inspire you, some of the asymetrical stuff is ace!

I think its a bit shitty, its hard when it comes to making your own logo, I'm now thinking I should not have one after all, let my portfolio be the focus and everything remain understated

thats a good way to go designshowcase, keep it simple (one pager maybe?), nice type, simple grid layout and if your work is good it will shine, you could spend forever and a day trying to perfect your own logo, if you dont need one (your not a company) then dont bother matey.

I like the 3rd one (bottom left). It would need your name underneath and you could use some nice colours for each of the 3 shapes. I don't think it needs much more than that.
