I've heard mixed things about it. I'll probably rent it. What about it, in particular, ate the most ass?

the fact that it's hard to give a damn about any of the characters and throughout the movie you never know who to root for, or who's in love, and if they are in love, why?
also the pacing was rushed in the beginning and the ending made absolutely no sense
also, tim burton didn't even art direct it
i'm not entirely sure what role he actually had in the piece

keep in mind that "dark" styled "films" like this are kinda my thing and i generally love tim burton

I also thought it was not very good.
my high school drama teacher once said that the key to any good musical was that the characters should have no other way to properly express themselves except by singing.
In the Corpse Bride they sang about every damn thing, and most of it felt forced.character design and animation were f-ing amazing tho.

I thought it was pretty good..
storyline maybe not so much, but the characters / animation and most of all art direction where really good, so much style, It reminded me a lot to the good days of beetle juice and sissor hands..
Opposite to scarabin dark movies are not really my thing and tim burton really letted me down on the last few film, specially in chocolate factory..
I want to see the older movie on the same style of animation.. peach something is that one any good?

I haven't seen the film yet, but I heard that the storyline is the weakest part of the film. The art and stop motion aspects (technical) are great, but the characters and story are lacking.
