I'm going to change a few facts here, but - my brother got together with some investors to do one of those fantasy sports league things - and I have a sneaking suspicion these guys are clueless. They are members of a ;league now - invested $200 bills a pop and then at the end the winner gets $5 grand or so. So they figure come next season they'll do it themselves, do there own league charge other people to do it and walk out with the profits...
Anyway they buy a domain, buy a licsence for the whole sports stats program, and come to me and ask me to do all the logo work, design, etc..
And I take one look at the domain and say guys you should really rethink this before I start doing design work around this name - and here's where I change facts a bit - let's say they were doing a fantasy Basketball league and they're calling it OfficialNNBA.com
I'm like - guys if you run with this you WILL get a cease and desist order from the REAL NBA in about 45 seconds..and they're all ike "Oh no..don't even worry about it...what are they going to do? Sue Us?"
I'm like - uh- yeah...
But they want to roll with it anyway..I mean they're going to pay me, but I don;t feel like working on something that won't see the light of day..
That and they want a swoosh in the logo, you knwo to make it look "sporty - like nike!"
Any opinions, or am I just being stupid about this myself...
