as far as i remember, dry slopes are made from cells of white astro turf type bristles..
..hurts like fuck when you fall!

i ride a burton bullet from a few years ago... a little shorter so i can spin faster. not really tech or anything, but its well rounded for hitting most of what i want.
if i were you, i'd just go out and take a lesson and rent/borrow a board for your first day. i didn't take a lesson at first and spend my first 3 times slamming my knees... when i got my brother into it, he took a lesson and picked it up so much faster.

indoor snowboarding, indoor windsurfing... i don't get it:

horton, sadly the uk is a small, temperate land whose topography has a clipped accent and weather is very well mannered.

I used to work at a resort and would ride all the time.
My best advice =Take a lesson. I taught my little sister how to ride, she got good, became an instructor and then schooled me! Instructors are taught a specific way to teach the sport, the info is priceless.
Also, don't give up after your first day (no matter how bad your tail bone hurts!). The second day is much easier and it just keeps getting better.

Hello NT. Are you there
- JazX0
I gave it up. No time. I was good in 1995.

It's just something you have to do for yourself. Not many good pointers, just get out there and give it a go.
It's one of my favorite things in the whole world and I am lucky to get in about 55-80 days a year doing it at Snowbird.

Burton has a new feature on their site for people starting out.
Look for the new magazines as the buyers guide will be one shelves now.
Where are you riding?
Where have you been? Longtime no see....

get some decent gear, and drink some whiskey on the mountain, helps with the pains of learning your edges.

I will be doing the dry slop thing fro the time being, as there is one where I live.
See if I like it and go from there.

ouch.

snowboarding is sometimes the only thing I think about.
I suggest you shut up before I call you out for depressing me. I'm in Chicago, and I wish I had a magic carpet to take me to Breckenride, CO.

i hear ya mg33... i went from working in the industry and riding free almost every day of the season, to living on a tiny island with about 500 vertical feet.
