mac log file

I have a 6.6 GB log file under
Library/Logs/console/501/console...
can I delete it or what?

If you go to System Profiler > Software > Logs it shows the current logs.
There, and in Library I see only a console.log which is 2k.
I'd say yep..delete console.log.2

damn log. how can a log get to 6.6 GB. outrageous

MacOS X depends on it and will go black on you and die next time you reboot!!!
just kiddin', you can trash it with any worries, just a file for the ubergeeks that wanna check when osx does all day

btw, found a nice app that shows you the biggest files on your harddrive. Also helped me to get of 1 GB of useless printer drivers
