Hey dudes... anyone else on here have major issues with the screen getting scratched up?
i have read the articles, and gone through the boards over at apple, and have found this is quite a wide spread problem...
has anyone here sucessfully returned their nano or exchanged it?

(Sep 26 05, 20:44)I might recommend a little more liberal use of the lube in that case.

Nano = iWank
(how's that? fairly poor eh?)
;)
to be fair I find it hard to be sufficiently scathing cos I'd quite like one myself :/
they're just so wee :)

i know. i think it's actually quite sad. they're terribly cute and, for someone like me, who's never been able to have an ipod of any sort at all, it was really tempting to get the best one ever.
but there's something super fishy going on it would seem. if it's not planned obsolescence, it's something much more sinister. i hope apple deal with this gracefully.

I seen an IPOD Mini kick the crap out of a IPOD Nano the other day, it was just to small. And it got it screen cracked.

the second reason why I will never buy one.

(Sep 27 05, 02:32)I'm wondering why the nano sleeve case is coming out 8 weeks after the nano??? I swear, apple tries to take the most money out of it's customers. I remember hearing on the news how they sold ipod mini's without a power charger.

buy one of those $1.99 PSP screen protectors, which is an adhesive film you lay over your screen.
take that and cut it to fit the nano. you can probably cover the whole front with it if you wanted.

i honestly can't imagine why nobody else has thought of this

the other side of the argument:

BTW, I had the black nano for about half a week, and it's scratched up like crazy. I tried to be careful with it, and usually carried it in my front pocket without anything else in it. There's a few noticeable scratches, and literally almost a hundred tiny scratches if you look up close.
If they can put a scratch guard on something as thin as the lens of eyeglasses, I don't understand why they couldn't do the same for the nano.

what a disaster the nano was ... the New Coke

eya you can put a screen protector on it, but it is still a flawed product. i have a k700i phone (sony erricson) and the screen is full colour, just like the nano, and there is NONE of those weird little rainbow scratches even after over a year of having my phone, which is in and out of pockets, in my cup holders in my car, i skateboard and fall with it... and my phone has some nicks, but for the most part... the screen is still in better condition then my nano's.
i have taken care of my nano, putting it in my pocket with NOTHING else... and its scratched to hell..
