I 'have a friend' who graduated a few years back and just got a new powerbook using the student discount, no worries with just having graduated recently.

as long as you use the student discount online they wont really authenticate it. if your student id doesnt have any date on it like mine, then you can use it at the storefront.

Apple Store...just get someone to buy it for ya using a student ID. It's like $300 off.
I was screwed when I bought mine. I talked to two different employees for about an hour and they both said I could use a student ID, even though I wasn't in school anymore. So I was then rung up by a manager who asked me when I graduated. Not thinking I said like a year ago (DOH!) and had to pay full price. Bastardo.
