How the hell do I make the box go to the bottom??
height: 100%; for the box isn't working
css here: http://kodap.com/test/scripts/ko…

I mean: expand the whole with and height of browser window (keeping that margin all around)

thanks jevad.. that works fine...
but IE 6 screws the bottom margin...

html has a similar problem and I dunno why...you would think they would have figured the easy solution to the most used items in like IE3

damn box hacks
I HATE U!!!!!!!!!!!

having a really bad week

its so depressing trying to go standards to ease the work and then a guy loses twice the time hacking and debugging the damn css only to avoid tables.. heehe..
maybie I'm going with the table this time...
- kodap0
and now an impossible thing that only tables can do: floating / aligning bottom.
I give up.

DAMN BOX HACKS....
this is why it is good to own your own company and make enough to have some kid do the hacks....and never have to worry about it again and only have to open ps and fw...
ah a wonderful thing being an entrepreenneeurial person

even the people who use "standards" use tables when needed. Like you say, sometimes people spend more time trying to apply hacks rather than getting stuff done.

Tables are for tabular data
:/

if you want to use the full height of the page you need to set the height of the html tag and body tag to be 100%.
html, body {
height:100%;
}

UndoUndo, does that method work for strict doctypes??
- UndoUndo0
I believe so, although not tested it. can't see why it wouldn't
- dijitaq0
just tested
works on safari, firefox on mac
doesnt work on ie 5 for mac
dunno on ie pc
- UndoUndo0
have you got the output? and a link for me to test on pc. cheers
