I'm making a site for some friends in flash and the news is gonna be an updateable text file read in with loadvars
my problem is: How do I get urls that are in the text file linkable?

load in yr txt and set yr text field to read html formatted text. if you put html links in the txt they will be active in the text field. i.e
mytextfield.htmlText ="myText.txt";

ok i have done all that
but once I have added the html within the text file the swf file one reads the text up to the point before I add the link code???!!!!!

send me an email if you look at my site the news section works just like that and it updates every 5 seconds. same with the chat
send me an email and I will hook you up with a flash movie that does what you want.

Garus, congrats on your flash chat. does it use asp or php?

it uses php. I am super slamed with work now but I hope to expand the back end of the site. I will be making a log in thing for members and the chat will be expanded. any one out there that would like to help that would be cool.
