If I got one I would definitely get a cover. I'm guessing that the scratches and fingerprints would bother me.
At the same time, I would want a cover that was really thin and nice looking, otherwise I wouldn't get one.

Had a case... Still got scratched
so now I dont use a case. The only thing I dont like scratched is the screen.

I have decals on my Shuffle that I change regularily, and on top, a clear shuffle condom that keeps it nice & new looking and any dirt off it

I used to keep my ipod covered (rubbery DLO cover)... I stopped covering it because I kept having to uncover it to dock it (laziness).
Now it's comletely scratched and gunked up. I like it better this way. Plus, it's smaller and easier to use without the sleeve.
I still use the sleeve when there's a chance I might drop it, though... the rubbery skin would definitely soften a fall onto concrete.

my old ipod has scratches and dents but still works like a charm.
but i just bought an iPod Nano for my girlfriend and was thinking of buying her a www.muffpod.com but they dont have covers for the Nano yet.

I used to have an iskin on mine, but it stuck to everything, so I didn't use it anymore. Now I regret not keeping it on.
However, my dad (who didn't even know what an ipod was until he got one as a present) has this really cool plastic case for his. It's clear, thin, and protects the screen. I think he got it at Walmart (shocking, eh?).
