i think the point is that you shouldn't compromise on anything, really.
anyone you're with should:
a) make you laugh
b) make you breakfast
c) make you feel a bit shaky in the knees, etcetera

I married number two, I haven't got any regrets. I see number one occassionally in clubs and bars screaming at their partners and humiliating them in public. It's all about balance I think.
