anzelina it sucks that you aren't enjoying your work. Someday you will be able to do whatever you want, dont let these back seat drivers ruin any process developent you are doing.
Almost 2 years ago I had had enough, I was sick of being expendible and projects falling through. i said , I am not gonna work for anyone ever again.
i sucked it up and started my own thing with a couple of partners and now responsible for all success and faliures. It is very challenging, but worth it.

after taking a closer look at our anti-harassment policies, i see that my boss has broken every single rule. i was too polite/needing my job/thought i was overreacting to jokes and let it slide too long, and now i can't say anything.
lesson learned. i'm outta here soon so i won't sweat it, and he does it to everyone in front of everyone so it's only a matter of time before he gets canned.
put perspective on my last job tho. i thought it was bad at the time but this experience has been far worse.

i just don't like the micromanaging that happens, my boss basically uses me as a tool because he doesn't have time to design / doesn't know how to use the programs.
i am the only in-house designer.

i am kind of in the same boat. in fact, yesterday my non designer boss asked me to look into some classes or workshops to enhance my skills.
now i am contemplating if i should be a designer at all. it's a fucked up profession where any ignorant fuck can tell you your work is no good. my success or failure depends on someone's shitty opinion.
i am ready to move to a profession where things are a bit more black and white.

in a good environment criticism is positive.
but in real life, getting shot down all the time in a not-so-nice manner wears on you.

yeah, uh, that's why i started this thread.
i'm ready to jump the boat but i don't want to dick over my boss since i did say i would stay until next summer. just trying to be a decent human being, you know?

courage is what makes me want to explore other options. i could sit here and just complain or i could work on a plan to make things better.
maybe a new job is the answer and not entirely a change of profession. either way, its upto me to make some changes and get to a point where i am more content about my professional life.
