look, not to be a wise@ss, but there is little to no chance this band is doing acoustic sets on any tour in the near future. Not only is it incompatible with their artistic visual approach. It doesn't match their overall ephemeral sound. Of course any artist can play acoustically. Marting Gore of Depeche Mode wrote 90% of the basic structure of their songs on an acoustic guitar. It's just easier that way.

while they probably wouldn't do a full set accoustically, there could be a chance to do a song or 2. theres just something about hearing an accoustic version of a song. John Mayer's Kid A cover is a good example of it. I would love to hear an accoustic version of a Sigur Ros song, seeing what kind of weird sounds they could come up with on a piano, guitar.

Good luck hearing them do something live on such a grande scale.
I'm sure they will do something or have done something on an album. Unless of course they strip a song of about three or four tracks and just sit up there with an acoustic guitar.
It's just not their thing imo. More warm electric analog organ and strings with sound effects in the bg.

did anyone see that short doc/show that was on tv? i'm not sure if it was hbo, mtv, or ondemand, but it showed like 4 live songs from Pennsylvania and little interviews with georg in between... anyway, i just found it on a dvd that was laying around. georg discussing the "lyrics" is pretty interesting.

i am not a fan of electronic music so that is why i wonder. i mean. they use a shitload of power!
also the lead guy seems a touch egomanical. just made me think of the wizard of oz ... when the electricity is switched off is he just a skinny guy with a high pitched voice and B+ writing skills?
he does have mad lungs though.

i remember georg saying the lyrics were completely made up, just using the vocals as another instrument. he said they don't really have anything to say as a band; they aren't political. they just make music. seemed kinda lame, in a way. not that every band has to deliver a message, i just imagined the lyrics' meaning equaling the sound (if that makes sense).
