i thought cgi was a dead language already.

well, it still works, and it's pretty lightweight. i am just having a stupid problem somewhere and i want another pair of eyes on this.
for a FormMail script, it's not any "older" than .php from what i can tell.
i would like to avoid re-making this in .php if possible.
TIA ;)

i would try, but haven't touched cgi in years. Shouldn't take too long to rebuild something in PHP if you really had to, no?

right, i just wondered if anyone was up and willing to look at it. it's been a few years since i looked at any Perl as well.
the issue at hand is that it's a freebie fix for a friend, so i didn't want to go re-doing his stuff.

FormMail is security hazzard. Any decent host would kick you off for using that. Seriously - get rid of it. Not only could that server get hacked, but this script is a spammers dream.
I can give you some php pointers if you tell what the form should do.
