for a new job??

no more than 1 single page.
and your boss should be the one writing the letter.
- ldww0
yes for a new job.
everyone i talk to says that you should write the letter for your boss, then let him review/make changes and sign.

why wouldn't your boss write it?
- radar0
yeah it seems odd your writing it, if you must though write it in third person.
- ldww0
because my boss is a very busy person, as well as all the other executives I have worked with. it is alot easier for them to get a letter with the aproxomate information needed already there, make changes where they see fit, and sign.

if your boss is too busy to do it him/her self then maybe it's cool if you write it but otherwise your boss should be the one writing.

i wrote that "busy" thing as you were writing your response.
just clarifying so that i don't come across as a tacky prick.
good luck!
=)

in the uk you cannot write anything negative, so the reference is measured on the amount of positive points
