Anyone in the Boston area know if there is a Brew pub that serves local or Abbey-style dubbel ale.
Something like 'Resurrection' at Brewer's Art in Baltimore.
Any ideas?

thanks... Any thoughts on Brew Moon?

haha pick your poison.
brew moon is in the theatre district. it's big, fairly new, overly air conditioned and gets slammed with pre and post theatre/club crowds. It's kinda too cold and clinical in there for me.
I prefer Beerworks, but stay away when the Sox are in town. Being right next to Fenway, the place turns into a zoo on game days. I think Beerworks has the better selection of Beer and also more decent food. Aaaaand you're right next to Landsdowne St, where all the clubs are.

If you're after a huge selection of beer and a cool bar to boot, i'd check out Bukowski's in Inman Sq in Cambridge. They had smoked beer from where i grew up in Germany, I'd NEVER seen that anywhere in the US.
It's a little out of the way, but well worth the visit.

Awesome feedback. I can deal without the Theatre crowd. There is enough drama at work for me. So I can deal without that. One question though....
Is Beerworks a "sportsbar"? I am looking for a good old fashion brew pub. Which it sounds like it is... I just want to make sure it's not a "sportsbar".
thoughts?

neither of them is a "old fashioned" brewpub.
They're both giant places designed to pack in people. There's a couple on Boylston street, on the same block even. One's in a Hotel on the same side as the Pru, never been in there tho. Then there's one almost right across the street, but they've changed ownership over the last few years and i haven't been in there since before they were called something else. So i can't vouch for either.
Hmmm..how about the Other Side Cafe? It's not exactly a brew pub, but they have a huge selection of (eclectic) beers, it's a great spot, great people, and excellent, modern food. It's on Newbury St, just after it crosses Mass Ave.

Try Sunset Grill in Allston. Great selection of beers from around the world and good food. It does NOT have the foo-foo kinda feel of the dowtown places. More of a college bar. Anyone feel like drinkin this weekend in Boston?

Sunset is nice, but it's nicer in the summer when the college kiddies are out of town...a bit choked with the BU/BC frat crowd.
They do have an impressive beer selection tho.

We are agreed on Susnset. There are plenty of places in B-twon to get a good beer though. Definetly not the Bud crowd

theres a beerworks near the fleetcenter if you dont want to deal with the fenway crowd. i think it has a better layout inside as well.
and are you referring to solas, greedo?
also, there is the wonderbar on harvard ave in brighton, but the quality of people in there is suspect as well.
