  I'm loading ext swfs. the ext swfs are animated pngs doing whatever. my bg image in the parent movie has all sorts of fun stuff happening (wavyness, etc).

  How do I eliminate this (aside from breaking apart the image)? is this a 'don't animate the instance so much' thing?

  are you sure your flash player is the most recent, that could be a part of your problem, else, try setting your png and other graphics below it at the exact pixel... hope that helps
