How do you add 4 points together from 2 different items?
Lets say I have 2 squares and I want one of the sides of Square 1 join to another side of square 2
In another words kinda of having a rectangle but divided in 3. but it has to be joined by one of its sides rather than creating a rectangle and dividing it in 3.

In Lightwave Modeler selet the two points you want to join (they have to be close enough), go to the "Detail" tab and hit Weld.

Cool!
I tried that technique earlier, but it doesnt work as he does in the tutorial. it deletes the original point instead of welding them together, does that makes sense?

its more like what Construct>Bridge does to 2 points.

aaaaaaah i figured it out thanks to the follwoing tutorial:
http://www.newtek.com/products/l…
instead of weld it is Create/Make Poligon.
Thanks all for your help

I was just about to post, that there should be (in every decent 3d app there is) create polygon function somewhere.
But from what you decribed earlier, i was thinking about welding also, not bridgeing the cap.
In Max there is a way of connecting objects together without having to create 4 polys, and i think Lightwave has it also. But as LW is so un-logical program i bet it's somewhere in your face but still so well hidden.

yeah i know, if you look at the GIF from earlier:

the guy who seems to be using a lot of shorcuts, that to us the NB we get stuck.
Im stuck using the endomorph now.
sigh....

another question. how Do I align all my points to the X axis?
like I want them all to aling perfectly together, I have been aligning them manually but they still off by a little bit.
TIA

figured it out, it is Detail/Set Value
hummm
A little hard to figure out if you ask me
hahaha

Like i said LW is very un-logical program. I had to use it in Art School but dropped it, insted went with Max, which imo is very logical.
But to be fair i don't know how to align vertices (points) to certain axis. At least not now without program open. :)

yeah, i took Lightwave and 3DMax in school, but I havent used them for a while.
