anyone uses it to call land lines? how good is it? is it reliable?

it is by far the best extension for my computer i have ever used. quality is the best i have ever used, rates are beyond cheap.

I use it for foreign calls from Canada, with a cheap headset it sounds many times better and clearer than the nokia cellphone I have.

I'm calling USA and Poland from Ireland, works fine most of the time.

we use Skype for long distance to Canada and Thailand. The quality is great...but has become a bit spotty at times during the last year as more people use it.
we are trying out Gizmo as well...I think the sound is better. Plus I just got an email that says new users will get a .25 cent credit to try it out to any phone...mobile or landline.

I haven't worked it out, because it's f*cking cheap. And when it's that cheap, I don't really care.
I call a good friend in Sweden from Canada and never worry about it. Before, I used to spend $10 to speak for 10-20 mins.

I use it to call France from New York, and just got a Skypeln french number which allows my friends back home to call me wherever i am for the cost of a local call.
It even takes voice mails if skype isn't launched :) sweet.

no, it is all spelled out on their site, but it is 0.017 euro or 0.023 US anywhere w/in their WorldRate.
just looked and it is € 0.237 to Sweden and the same for Swedish mobiles...

Now I really use it as much as a regular phone.
I was such a phone freak before, i didn't want to get another one when i moved and spent a year with no phone at all. That was SO great.
Except it's hard to stay in touch with people.
So now friends call me directly, and i mostly use it to call people I work with to avoid going through endless emails.I would say i spend $30 a month on it, not more. And it's like 30 hours worth.

I just tried Gizmo and it sounds pretty good, you still get some delay on the calls and if both people talk at the same time, the sounds gets blocked a little.
other than that I need to try the sound in Skype to see the difference,
