I am wondering if any of you have noticibly seen your eyesight decline from working on a computer. I've always had great vision but feel that looking at this laptop and reading all day at work is messing up my sight lately.

I've lost at least 3 of my senses..

I can't tell if mine is from the computer or all the reading, but mine are going downhill.
MrMayo got Lasik specifically for looking at the computer. While he is slowly needing to use reading glasses, he can still see his monitor clear as ever.

For instance when I used to sit in a cube you can only focus your eyes about two feet in front of you since there is a wall around you. I would find my eyes staring into space going totally out of focus just to relax them.
I know your are supposed to take a 20 min break every 2 hours and stare at a far away object but I'm not sure if it helps.

switching to an lcd helped my vision a ton. i don't get anywhere near as tired as i used to.

My eyes were horrendous before I ever touched a computer.
Stupid sun and it's undefeated record in our staring contests.

* Can't see fist but knows shaking is taking place.

some days I try responding to threads, but nothing happens..
then I realize that I'm actually on DIK :(

I have always wanted to put insurance on my eyes... if actors and actresses can place insurance on their features (j-lo put a claim on her ass) athletes insure their legs in case of injury... why can't i insure my livelihood? than again, i could have misread and made all that up... I do agree my eyesight is dwindling though...

I've been wearing glasses since grade 5. I have no problems with it. I mean, where would I be without my glasses. I also have contacts, but I'm going to get some comfortable ones soon, since the ones I have now aren't extremely comfortable and my eyes are very sensitive to everything. I'm also planning on getting laser-eye surgery a few years down the road.
