can i rock hyperlinks in an xml document i'm using in flash?

yes.
i think using 'nodeValue' will mess things up- just get to the right XML node, and make your variable equal that. another this is you'll need to surround all of your text with p tags. beyond that, I think you'll be ok as long as your link is properly formatted.

use CDATA to enclose them:

I want to be able to enter text with selected words linked. I don't want a whole text tag linked with to one url. i'd like to be able to have more than one link in a chunk of text.
am i out of my mind?

You can do it with XML / Flash 7 / AS2
do a search on kirupa and you should find a tutorial
