I've imported an EPS logo in aftereffects, added some effects.. problem is, its contrained the canvas size of the eps to fit just round the logo, so when I apply some blur effects to the image, i'm getting straight edges of were the canvas ends instead of feathered edges. anyone know how I can resize the background of the eps.. ( its a vector logo)

precomp the logo and make its composition bigger to fit the blur in

That dont work... its recognizeing the eps frame still..
- vespa0
are you blurring the eps or the comp? try blurring the comp rather than the eps. (although i can't test this cos my blur seems to work fine even on a straight eps...)

its contraining the size of the image... (eps) so the graphics background is contrained around it... which shouldnt make any diffence at all.. that until I apply a zoom blur effect, and it then boxes off the background from the point its outline box is margined..
so iam getting straight edges is instead of a feathered edge, which is very gay.how do I fix it?

change the canvas size in eps ans reimport the files as a composition, it will work fine now.

I thought this would work, but no.. its still contrained arround the image..... ??
- chossy0
make sure it is RGB
also it should work perfectly both ways that vespa and I are describing, I think you are missing something out that you have not told us.
- vespa0
break down what you're doing again? i can't recreate your problem.

Ok I got an eps... I designed in Adobe Illustrator... I save it as an eps, in RGB, at 800 pixels canvas..
I import it into after effects, as either a comp or footage.. But when I check the project window and see the info for the image, its size is now at 318x85... which for some reason has an effect on the background of the eps when I apply blur effects.. because it wont let me go beyond this region.. Am I doing somthing wrong?
- vespa0
that's all normal - it will crop the eps to the size of the image.
and then? you've dragged it onto a 768 x 576 comp? applied gaussian blur to the eps?
- chossy0
your copy of AE is legal I hope?
- Bullitt0
erh ... but its been working fine for me :)
until now, with this problem.

ZOOM blurrrrrrr sorry buddy the built in zoom blur constrains to inside the bounding box of your shape, so there is nothing you can do about it without buying some other blur filters from a 3rd party.

don't freak out. just add crop marks in illustrator. AE will recognize the size up to the crop marks.
Or you can always pre-comp.

yeah I got it working in a new comp, what you told me was correct, I just did the process wrong, thanks bud
