im still looking for a mac version of winamp so that i can stop using itunes
both macamp and taply are nowhere near as good..

still whips the lama's ass (and itunes')

what makes it better than itunes?
- tierdot0
well, the fact that you dont have to make playlists of everything in order to be able to play it..
if you have a large collection of mp3s it gets a bit unnerving sometimes..and you can get stuck listening to the same things over and over again

i'm going to give it a try.
I'm SICK OF iTunes. It bogs down my system (for real)... it uses way too many resources for a music player... and it's 'shuffle mode' is ASS. I hear the same shit ALL THE FUCKING time for some reason - even if I've got well over 1,000 tunes playing.
winamp... i'm going to give you a try.

for those who should give it a try:
download http://streamripper.sourceforg.n…
and place it inside the plugins folder of Winamp, then You'll have your favourite radios into separate mp3 files in each radio folder (all musics named and tagged!!) . that is the best add-on software I've ever downloaded.
Thanks to Mdobolina!!

Winamp rocks, never been a fan of the Jukebox styled players and prefer to use my own naming schemes and folders to sort my music. Been a winamp user since like 1998, they hit a rough patch with version 3 but redeemed themselves with version 5.

yeah, winamp rocks, if not only for the 'Internet TV'..always something thought-provoking and random, like Azerbyjani News and Soaps for instance..
oh, and pr0n, and loads of music.
Also, will play Large movie files while using less ram than Media player. Long live Winamp..

Winamp kicks ass. But I'm still using Winamp 2.9

Winamp is like:
http://www.designfeeds.com/main/…
while "neato" too much shit happening all in one place. It's butt ugly and bloated.
I'm too busy with real life to waste time on that mess... I rather iTunes... right to the point.

Still looks like it is in 1998 but with video.

Winamp is information overload?
um ok.
For a program I have minimized 95% of the time, I could give two shits about eye candy, especially when I am using less ram and not having to deal with that BS sort or cateogize my music (seeing as it sucks at it)

winamp is the bestest. I went down that dark road of iTunes, using 40% of my resources and wasting my time with its id tags.
