I need hi-8/vhs converted to digital. What is a cheap way to convert this and get it into my belly (computer)

it's not going to be pretty if you're doing this yourself
you might need some sort of adapter in order to plug your VCR into your puter and then get it from there or convert it

K, if you have a hi-8 camera, or deck you can use it as a player, use the rca outs to go into a dv camera or deck. Then use firewore into the computer and capture with your editor of choice.
Basically, the digital camera will work as a converter.
VHS works the same, RCA to dv camera, to computer.
If this doesnt make sense write back and I will be more specific, I do this all the time.

Thanks. I think I understand; though the camera I have is not digital.
Is there a low budget converter on the market that would go from my non-digital camera/vcr to my computer via usb?

there are digital converters. I havnt used one for a couple of years.

but I would consider buying a cheap digital video camera off ebay before purchasing one of these. It will give you the exact same quality conversion, but you will get a camera too.
Good luck.
Also, I have never captured video with usb, Is it USB2?
