Ok... I'm off to the sticks (UK) in a couple of weeks to my folks house... I'm thinking of getting broadband there just for the week I'm there... where is the best place to do this with (I will probably have to pay a months subscription... but will be worth the 20 quid or whatever)
So which companies don't hold you to a contract... and don't change your telephone number etc... as want to do this without my folks getting involved, as I'm sure you all know how painful that could be :)

try checking here first:
http://www.broadband.co.uk/remember that not every ISP is available everywhere.
sometimes its also plaform dependent as well (ie bt basic won't work on a mac for some absurd reason!)

either way, when the all the rest of their products do, it seems a bit crap.

a lot say no contract but seem to charge 60 quid if you cancel... hmm!!!
with bulldog at the moment... they should be called bullshit :)
gonna take a mac and pc with me anyway... so something should work... the really cheap bulldog one only allows you 8 hours a month... how shite is that! bascially a working day!

virgin.net don't hold you to a contract but may charge a £50 cancellation charge!

don't forget that they seem to take about 10 days to set-up as well!
