in illustrator, I am trying to distribute objects to layers. When I do it, it creates sublayers to the original object.
When I save it and open it as a project in AE it doesnt recognize the sublayers.
How do you distribute to independent layers?
or/and
How do you import the sublayers into AE as seperate layers?

Usually, I would just select each object and in the layers palette, there is that little square to the right of the layer name. create as many layers as you need, and move the little square to the new layers. Thats how I distribute elements to layers. Is this what you are asking? Hope it helps mang.

Distribute as you always do, then select those created sub-layers and drag them out of your layer and they automaticallychange toregular layers.
I hope it made sense.
To put it simply, drag sub-layers like you drag layers from layer folders in PS.
