Anyone on OS X Tiger know why a bunch of fonts that I have activated in font book would NOT be showing up in photoshop?

do you have any other font manager? fontbook sucx ass

I miss shit sometimes because the font will start with an ITC or some other wacky crap and it ends up at the top or bottom of the list. See what the bmp or PS font is actually called in the suitcase.

And fucking extensis won't even start!
THE WORLD HATES ME

FontAgent Pro is the only decent manager for Tiger.

I had major issues with Font Book and P'shop. How many fonts are you running?

Fontbook seriously slows your mac down. it used to take over 5 mins for my iMac G4 to log in, so i backed up all my fonts then removed them from font book and installed Suitcase.
My Mac logs in immediately now

Like somone said, it might be that the name of the font starts with ITC or something that will put the font in a wierd place in the PhotoShop font list.
It might also be that you're have not properly activated the font. Best thing is to remove the font from FontBook. With the finder make a search of all instances of that font and delete them. Get the original copy of your font back on your machine. Double click on the file that says FFIL (not LWFN) A little preview window will show you the font. Click on 'install font'. That's how I usually solve most of my problems with FontBook.

Try putting the font into the Adobe Font folder:
Username>Library>Application Support>Adobe>Fonts then relaunch Photoshop.

does font book let you print specimen sheets?

Whenever extensis won't launch, the only cure is a restart. Then, go thru the fonts 1 by 1 until you freeze, and thats the corrupt font.
Also, be sure you check "scan for corrupt fonts" in the prefs of Extensis.
Fonts are always real touchy- I killed a machine at my last gig by just opening FontBook- the tech had to make a whole new profile to fix it.

if i switch from font book to suitcase or something else, i worry that my system is going to get all f'd up.

fontbook sucks. fontbook sucks. fontbook sucks. fontbook sucks. fontbook sucks. fontbook sucks. fontbook sucks. fontbook sucks. fontbook sucks. fontbook sucks. fontbook sucks. fontbook sucks.
fontbook is pure and utter evil.
get suitcase or something.
- nburlington0
okay but will suitcase and font book truck up my system?

forget about fontbook. don't use it. just use suitcase or something along that line. works fine here (and it doesn't move your fonts around).
