Here in Atlanta yesterday the Governer of Georgia got on the air to quell rumors that we had a gas shortage. Well the reverse happened. Emails and phones calls started flying all around saying gas was shooting up and that some stations were closing due to lack of supply.
When it was all said and done people had freaked out, scrambled to every available gas station in town and in a self-fullfilling prophecy, drained the pumps. 65% of the stations I came across were out of gas and the few that had it had lines 10 deep at each pump. My guess is that half of the patrons didn't need a full tank and some were even filling up portable containers and 55 gallon drums.
Not to mention prices shooting through the roof until the governor declared a price fix. Some reports had people paying $6.00 a gallon because of this "hysteria." Which I say, good for them.
I'll get off my box now to go fill up my tank.

Aye, my Dad used to own a garage and petrol station here in the UK, last time there was a fuel crisis and the rumours of shortages started, he had fuckwits who usually filled up once a month to do the school run coming in trying to fill all kinds of containers with petrol. one fuckwit wanted to fill a big tupperware box.
Tis a joke

a tupperware box?! hilarious.
i'm hoping the folks that are panicing and creating this shortage are not all across my state. my wife and i are supposed to drive a few hundred miles this weekend.

aye tupperware, coke bottles, watering cans.....fo real. Some people have 0 common sense, and then there is a fuel crisis or whatever event, and they seem to become even more retarded.
