I just got a 23" Cinema Display. And I want to use my old Sony Multiscan G520 fat boy as a second monitor. Is this possible and how do I hook it up?
thanks,

I think you need an gfx card with two video/vga/dvi outputs.

I have two monitors on my desktop at uni, then I had a second screen for my laptop that i borrowed off someone at one point. I was temporarily known as the twat with four monitors. Jealousy.

The back of my G5 has 2 monitor connections. One, which my 23 is hooked to has square sides. The other, which looks similar in plug but has rounded corners is open. I have an adapter on my old VGA Sony but it looks to be the same shape as the one my 23 is hooked to. Do they make an adapter for that other rounded one? And what is it called?
thanks

yes, then you need an VGA to DVI connector. Maybe apple deliverd one with your G5?

Thanks graphito but I think after a little more investgating this is what I need. An ADC to VGA adapter. This accommodates that rounded plug in.

Can having 2 monitors close togethers mess them up at all? What about having a laptop close to a LCD or CRT?

make sure to check the native height resolution for your 23 incher and see if the video card will adjust to that. I'm looking at my 21 incher right now where the text is kind of blurry (not perfect) because the video card can't set the right height...
