Question about working with 3d layers and working with the camara. Can anyone give me a quick rundown on how work these, or guide me to an example on the web.

getting the camera to do what you want in AE is possibly the hardest thing to master.
depending on what you're doing, creating a null object that moves the 'scene' rather than moving the camera can often do the job more easily.

Anyone know how to make a layer loop?

You can loop it with Time Remapping. Just copy the keyframes and paste them 1 frame after the last....
There should be a easier way though....

or you can render that layer out as a quicktime. Then re import the qt and set it to loop in the interpret footage settings. Bit of a pain if you want to change it after though.
