Backup Everybody, NOW!!!

A month ago, My hard drive died. I thought I lost everything. So I brought it to the "Hard Drive" specialist, note: They were really cocky about how they can recover my data. So I get the hard drive back, None of my work is backed up. By the way, The repair came up to $658.052. Bitches. Years and years of work and my new websiteare gone, A few stuff are backed up, but the rest is In outter space right now. It fucking sucks, Starting from sctratch like the fucking Game. Do me a favour y'all Back-up, cause I didn't.

about a 2 weeks ago, I got an external HD, backed up right away.
about 1 week ago, my internal HD crapped out.
about 1 week ago, I was wiping the sweat off my brow.

apart from having a mirror drive, I back up once a week using retrospect to DVDs. i take that backup home in case my studio burns or is broken into.
this is a result of experience of having 2 hard drives go caput on the same day (a technician dissconnected the scsi numarator so both of them had the same number) with the 5 first years of work and the next 3 years getting stolen with their backup.
backing up with retrospect is great, you only back up what's changed since your last backup, and you can perform searches to find which disk the files are on.

I just lost my drive right in the final stages of a big project. Luckily I took it to a shop up the street and he was able to get most of the data back. The only data missing was rendered maya sequences that I had already backed up to dvd. So I was saved, but it was so close.
Now I have a backup drive and backup constantly.

i have all of my work on an external drive, i don't have room for it all on my computer's internal hard drive.
i guess if i loose all the work i'm screwed.
i don't really care about the work, i mean, it'll be a fresh start, it'll probably feel good.
but my MUSIC, damn, i'd cry a thousand tears.
