Photoshop layer selection

    For some reason all of a sudden now in Photoshop CS2, when I go to selsect an object by pressing apple+click on top of it, nothing selects, but when I just do a standard left-click on it it does. How did this happen? Am I going crazy or is there a setting somewhere for this?
