I'm looking to get into more print design and am coming from a heavy focus on web and interactive design. Any suggestions for a book or two to get up to speed on some of the pre-press, paper, and print techniques?

there are a lot of print people in the NTPE2 thread, ask gruntt!

A good reference for print production/process is International Paper's Pocket Pal.

Are you looking more for printing/paper tips and techniques rather than just designing for print...or vice versa?

yeah exactly, design is design and i know where to research the creative aspects of a print project, but what i need is to learn more about the printing process, pre-press, color selection, paper stock, etc.

much more along the lines of 'nearestexit' suggestion.
Thanks!
