dont use the web safe palette in photoshop - unclick web colors on your palette.

It could be your old monitor. My laptop has great colours, but whenever I open up my site using my families' older monitor some of the colours look messed up and unattractive. I just deal.
You can either buy a new monitor or colour software things, or adjust the colour so that it looks good on any monitor.

or you could have color management on in photoshop. that might muck things up

cruz, when you click "Save for Web" and that other window pops up, look to the upper right hand corner of the preview part. There's a little triangle for the "Preview Menu."
When you click on that, tell me what is checked? If "Uncompensated Color" is checked it will make your colors goofy.
Check "Use Document Color Profile" instead and it shouldn't change the colors.

stick with #000, #FFF, #CCC, #666, and #EFEFEF.
