I'm watching Degrassi and Kevin Smith is on it... this is weird. Anyone else watch this? I liked the original better, this new one is crazy strange and too stylish for Degrassi.

I watched my last episode of Degrassi probably somewhere around 17 years ago... it was my first episode and only a partial episode at that.
I realized how fucking stupid it was and went on to something that was less intrusive on my 'common sense'.
I guess I didn't relate to that shit as high school was an excuse to keep me out of the house and force me to suffer through multiple sessions of liberal bleeding-heart cockBags trying to 'teach' me and my fellow students their views on 'life'.

Sorry to sound harsh towards Degrassi - it's a loaded pile of horseshit that are 'lessons' based on the writer's opinions and those of the 'educated' world who feel they're delivering an appropriate message via their shitty tv show for growing adolescents...
... these are lessons that parents should be teaching their children by example or experience... turn off the fucking TV and practice your times tables.

ehhh Not too many people around here watch it for valuable life lessons, it was simply a bizarre show that was funny as shit. Maybe u can call it a cult classic or something. Back when it was that kid Arthur and that chinese dude he used to hang out with, the music they played, the way they filmed it, etc. it was just strange tis why I enjoyed watching it.
I havent seen it in years (probably since you last did) and noticed that its completely different. More high budget, all styled out, big budget etc. Then I saw the guy from clerks, mall rats, etc. Kevin Smith and was WTF?

Awesome show - sure it was campy and the storylines predictable, but I loved the characters... ZIT REMEDY RULES!

Yes! Thats what Im taling about., thats when the show was the best. That band... I just remember them figting all the time, that band had the most drama, always some little punk that wanted to play the drums or gets kicked out etc. And the dramatic music, the steady cam filming, the best. That is the ultimate highschool hipster band and they were playing like 2 decades ago in Degrassi.

Yeah a cult show for shure. I didnt grew up when it first went on air but I remember watching repeats in cable like in 2002 or something. A different show. I thas some stories that back in time not many programs used to do I think.
The new g is a bit different. The school looks like more newer and cleaner. More upmarket for sure. Many the neighbourhood got upper market or something

the other day i was flipping thru the stations aand Degrassi poped up and both my wife and myself freaked out and we started watching it, but didnt realiaze it was an all new caST and stayed watching it, we saw the whole thing and both said
"i never seen that episode!!"
both content, the next day i went to werk and told everyone Degrassi was on again, and this young chick says its a new show and she broke my heart, so i switched her letter "m" with her letter "n" keys and crazy glued all her pen caps to the pens and put red permanent dyes in her white-out!

Degrassi is pretty much a classic for my generation. We also watched various episodes in health classes, so that teachers could help us understand about real-life issues. I liked the show, but didn't watch it religiously or anything. I agree that the older ones were better, but they had to change lots of stuff so that the audience of today could relate.
