so i lived in manhattan for a year, married a new yorker and we now live 5 minutes by train(one stop away) from greenwich village. we're new yorkers, right?
that's what i thought, but the 5 minute train ride takes us across the hudson river into HOBOKEN NJ.
Apparently that river makes all the difference in the world - we just got back from a month abroad, and as we were going through the airport line at JFK I remarked 'it's good to be back in NYC' to which the customs officer corrected me 'you don't live in nyc you live in jersey'.
anyway i like jersey.
i still have jetlag that's why i'm up now.

haha, yes, i don't know why people think jersey is so far off? i went on an interview on spring street, and he was going over my stuff, and he was like, you came all the way here from jersey city?
it took me 15 minutes to get there by subway? wtf?

new yorker just like to think that the city is so inaccesible, like your entering THEIR realm. its like....pick a bridge, tunnel, ferry or train.
