OK, I need to buy this software that is apparently from a russian company. I go to their website to place the order and fill in the form, click submit..and...
Oh, i see. Apparently there is no shopping cart system it just emails there sales dept. (or more likely some guy named Boris) that I want to order.
24 hours later I get an email saying "Do you confirm your order."
To wit I reply "Yes" and send it back to them.
24 hours later I hear nothing, so I fire off another email saying - "Why haven't I heard back from you? I know there is a time difference..."
five hours later I get "You are cancelling order? We do not understand your last email."
ffuckety fuck fuck.
I return "No, I confirm the order". As I hit send I am thinking to myself "I started the email with 'No'. Will they think I AM cancelling? Oh crap"
So I decide to take another route and send an order from a different email of mine through the site....
24 hours later I get a reply "Do you confirm order?"
I reply with a simple "Yes." Don't want to confuse Boris.
Half a day later I get "Why you make two orders from two seperate emails with same IP address? We are suspicious."
Fuckety fuck fuck
I want to write "No you dumb russian 'tard I want to pay you for your siftware that you would then give to me, and to do so in a timely fashion", but figure that won't go over well.
So I send another email, in the most basic of english to say I want there software and how do I pay them for it and then recieve it."
It is now ten hours later and I have heard nothing...
This is why we won the cold war folks...

maybe cosmiclocksmith can whip up an informative gif animation for them. the animations seem simple enough... universal too.

They might be winning this email war. Do they have your pay info already? Watch your statement for cases of vodka and hooker charges.

No, I haven't sent them any payment or given them any credit card numbers. Just these stupid emails of "Do you confirm order?"
I keep saying "YES!"
*sigh

write back.
hey natashia. lay off the vodka and send me my fucking russian made steroids already.

Now that.... was a funny read!

I'm guessing I would get the steroids long before the software. And the steroids would be like horse 'roids from some blackmarket mongolian black lab making designer drugs for chinese athletes.

UPDATE: Ok, check it out. After three days they just emailed me with the note below with the software as an attached file (I haven't paid them yet) and here is the message:
----------------------
Hello!btc> No I have not refused the order. I want to buy this software? What
do I
btc> have to do to get it?OK! We will send you copy of the script.
After it you should pay the script.
--------------------------
OK, they send me the software and then I have to pay for it? No info on how to pay them. Do I wire transfer the money? Email them my credit card # (not likely I am going to do that). Paypal? Drop a check in the mail? Send them some vodka? What?So as it sits now, I have the software (I am afraid they might have sent the software to my other email account as well and are now expecting TWO payments from me...) and I will pay them for it..but this has been just so bizarre..I feel dirty.
By the way, it's a port of an existing flatfile cms system that this russian company ported to MySQL. I have a client that uses the flatfile system, but wanted a database backend but keep the EXACT same system (I couldn't talk them into some other open source CMS or even a cheap commercial one like ExpressionEngine) and they insisted on porting it to MySQL. I'm no coder, so I tracked down this Russian company...
I am starting to get the sneaking suspicion that this is why capitalism doesn't really work too well over there...
