I need some suggestions on this. We've been using Xpedite and we're looking at changing to mailermailer but we'd like to find some other options..preferably one which will manage our list (bad addresses, bounces, opt-out, etc).
Also, is there a service that anyone knows of that could take our list and clean in up? In other words, remove the bounces and bad address', etc. I ask this because I'm hearing that many services will want to send out a reconfirmation email to the subscribers to verify that they still want to be on the list and one of the things that happens is that subscribers who ignore or never respond are assumed to be not interested. I have a manager that isn't cool with that at all (and he doesn't seem to care nor understand the practices of this business). He's a putz at times.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated....

If you get it into a comma-delimited list, you could feed that into CampaignMonitor (www.campaignmonitor.com), which is an excellent (and CHEAP) mail list monitor.
After sending out an email, it will notify you how many messages bounced, how many were open, etc.
As for switching to an email system, I've always been a fan of sendmail for an email server, and majordomo (in a roundabout fashion) for maintaining lists.
Both require some Linux knowledge to get them up and running.
