i'm in some serious need of RAM for my mac mini, but i'm not sure what kind of ram i should get. perhaps some comments and suggestions on the sea of RAM types out there? fyi -- i'm gonna max it out at its 1gb limit.

that'll give you all the technical details you need. as for brand, well, some people will claim that macs need super special ultra fabulous liberace ram, but really just get whatever's cheaper.

expect to pay about 1/3rd less from a 3rd party vendor.

I was not sure if i would go to the bother of opening it and installing it myself by getting it from a 3rd party.. with the mac mini being so sealed up.. anyone got experience of doing it them selves and think that its easy and does not cause any damage ?
