D70 - love it.
I have 2 lenses now:
18-70 kit lens - nice for a kit
and a used 70-210AF (105-315) that I just got a couple weeks ago

If you golf head out to Furry Creek

Beautiful course!
Also the location that Happy Gilmore knocked out Bob Barker

Yeah I always forget to tell people Granville Island. Despite the hordes a great place.

my first stop would be to get some bc bud too. then go and do everything listed above

Lynn Canyon on the North Shore... a little BC Bud and some Granville Island brew...mmmm...
- horton0
again, head straight for Wreck Beach... you will find plenty of the BC bud there.
- t_rock0
yes, caffeine is a definite must. and something fleecy when it gets cold... but still wearing shorts

Abandoned, read again:
"Commercial Dr for the hippy-samosa scene, or Kits for the yuppy-yoga vibe."
;)

I've heard the bc buds are a nice sight to behold

If you get a nice sunny day, go to the top of Grouse Mountain and have a beer.

I live here.
Hit the back alleys of East Hastings when the sun goes down.
(kidding of course)
If you want brochure Vancouver do the things other people suggested. Wander around Chinatown, Main Street, Commercial Drive gets my vote
http://www.pfosphene.com are my photos from Van. There are a few in there from Chinatown, and the areas I mentioned if you want to look.

also keep in mind that teh city of Vancouver is layed out poorly and there's lots of great pocket communities away from the downtown core..
cross some bridges and check out Main St for the uber-eclectic boutiques, Commercial Dr for the hippy-samosa scene, or Kits for the yuppy-yoga vibe.
