Is it possible to recreate a dreamweaver autotable with css?
I am trying to produce a php driven news page and i don't want any tables sneaking in there! Thanks in advance!

Yes. But you might actually want a table if the data is tabular... They are still meant to be used you know...

yeah, you have to use lots of floats and a table might be easier if its really complex..

cheers, i might just stick with the table, just as its only going to be simple thought I could do it without tables. Being the inquisitive know(f00k)all i know its possible just trying to find a tutorial.

That link is cool - but has noone got a link to dragging stuff from a MySQL database straight into CSS divs?? I.e. leaving out tables...
Wait a minute - that was the original question wasn't it...?
Fuck.

Does anyone there have some GOOD advice for me?
I've tried asking various web designers, and they're clueless colouring-in artists.
I'm revaming a site I built over a hundred years ago - here's a page from it:
http://www.stayin-scotland.com/e…
Scroll down to where the accommodations are listed - I will soon have a left menu column to the left of the accommodations.
The whole site will be in CSS. Hopefully.
So it will be, from left to right, a menu column (130pixels-ish) wide, then 2 columns with lists of B&B's etc.
MY QUESTION:
I will be using MySQL / PHP - should I have the accomm's in an iframe and should I use tables for them instead of CSS??
PLEASE BE A DEAR AND HELP ME!

Aww come on! Don't be like that, I heard someone say the other week at the Edinburgh festival that "web designers are just colouring in artists". I laughed with him.
After I heedbutted the cheeky fucking radge.
Any advice regards my CSS problem??

you back in Embra Rusty?
you can populate DIVs very nicely from a mySQL DB with PHP....
all you need is a while loop in your php and suitable echos...
works a treat..
haven't got it here but can mail you an example when I get home...

Hi there,
You know what, that would be magic if you could mail me that. I don't really "do" php / mySql, so I have an IT punter helping.
He wants me to build an iframe (with divs in it) and then he'll take it from there. I don't trust his knowledge.
I WAS in Edinburgh. Couple of weeks ago - and then London the week before that. WHere I was stopped and searched on the subway. The bobby on the beat found my small bag of exotic spices, and totally never realised what it was! What a fucking mook!
In Edinburgh I was at the Spiegel Tent... top fun, but 4.60 a pint!

FUCKEN HOW MUCH???????
£4.60??????
was that a pint of crack or what??

Hoegarden.
I was expecting a free Ho for that money. Never happened. Never even goat a gam.

Aye - fucking motpelliers have taken it over have they not. So it will be full of morningside cunts that like paying 4.60 a pint.

Me and a pal one night lifted the tape othey had on the pavement to makr their "roadside veranda" and used it to spell "WANK" in large letters across the front of the place...

Hahaha.
I used to live in Bruntsfield, just round the corner from it.
I remember spending about 20 notes there once to look at a lamb steak for about half an hour after a night on the little fellas. The state of the group of us. They were less than happy.

skt, for real?
where were ye at home?
I used to be in 187 Bruntsfield Place just past the iranian paper shop and had a pal who lived above the Howie's....
