i've got 70 or so jpegs i want to place in one illy doc. is there an easy way to do this rather than one at a time?
thanks again.

ahh, not that i know of. you can drag and drop complete folders into indesign if you can use that instead?

Not sure if this works the same but i know with jpgs at least you can just drag the files from your folder iright onto the artboard.

From the Import/Place dialog, try shift-selecting your images.

it's actually very easy.
open the doc you want the jpgs placed in.
file>open one jpg and record the following:
select all (selects the contents of the jpg file)
copy (copiess the contents of the jpg file)
close (closes the jpg file)
paste (pastes the contents of the jpg file in the desired doc)
stop the recording and now run the action as a batch on the folder containing your jpgs.
this works, I've done it before.

I made the action for you, download it from:

remember, you must have the doc you want the jpgs placed into opened when you start.
btw, this action will worked with any type of file illy can open.
