a client (doctor) has some medical brochures in their office that they want me to add to their website. they don't want to claim the work as their own, but rather provide them as informational resources for their patients.

is there a proper/legal way to do this??

is it as simple as scanning the brochure and putting it on their website with a notice that it was taken from so-and-so and written by so-and-so?

i tried finding an answer in the "pricing & ethical guidelines" book, but no luck.

    anyone...?

You might need to get the ok from the author/publisher or just put it up until someone says take it down.

you will DEFINATLY need to get written permision from the publisher/writter/journalist. I work for a magazine publisher here in sydney as a designer and we constantly get asked by other companies to post our articles, we dont usually allow this as its our property. Some publishers might ask for a fee to do this also, but definatly contact them first. :)
