iPod patent problems

Read about this in the paper this morning:

Apple turned in a patent application for some aspects of the scroll wheel too late, and similiar patent applications were filed by Microsoft earlier.
There's a chance that Apple could end up paying licensing fees for every ipod sold, to Microsoft, for something that Microsoft has never even built.

Can I just say that this is the pinnacle of Microsoft gayness! They are gonna leach off Apples success with mp3 players cuz they suck too much make anything close to the iPod. I guess they need money from somewhere to pay for their incompetence with Wind'ohs.

never you fear folks- Apple will win this one based on the release day of the original ipod.
