Conceptual help: Recruitment

What Natural imagery would you use to convey the concept of Recruitment? Has to be the Natural World (it's a theme running through several of the sites) preferably plants as aposed to wildlife...
It's a recruitment website with some print to go with it, aimed at people in the financial sector. Predominatly UK but also RoW too.

okay, what about those rhizomatic substructures that connect all the orange trees and have a symbiotic relationship with them? or the mangrove? with a whole network of roots all forming an ecosystem that you can't see. coral is the same way, too. coral might be good. plant and animal at the same time?
