Can anyone recommend a good book for brushing up my photography skills? or maybe a book isn't the way forward?
I'm sick of not knowing what the settings on my overly good digital and slr camera's are for.. If I play around with them for a and I take a photo and if its nice I'm happy.. I want to be a little more calculated about it..

All I can say is the more u play with yr camera the more u will know it. I dont like to technical things I just observe and play around - make yr own style. My only book is the PHOTO BOOK.

Been shooting on film longer than digital, have a lovely Nikon and spend a fortune ruining loads of nice velvia film with shit pictures.. Hence the digital purchase last year..
Club's.. Yeah good idea, being an antisocial bastard I never thought of that..

read the manuals..... use a polarization filter with you velvia films..... maybe join a course
i tried that when i just started, it sucked for me, most of the people were kinda stupid, so the teacher always ended up asking me to explain it to the rest of the class...i left after 6 classes
but i guess that if you can find a good course it would help you a lot
